Good mood food for Woodgreen dogs: A new partnership between Woodgreen Pets Charity and Pooch & Mutt.

The dog wellness brand will be generously donating enough food each month to feed around 80% of dogs in the charity’s care. On top of that, Pooch & Mutt have donated sample pouches and discount vouchers for everyone who rehomes a dog from Woodgreen – helping them to get off to the best start with their new canine companion.

Every year, Woodgreen rehabilitates and finds loving new homes for around 700 dogs from its 43-acre centre in Cambridgeshire. One of these dogs is Gonzales the Chihuahua, who was found abandoned and brought into the charity’s care. With no information about his history, the dedicated team have been getting to know Gonzales – his medical needs, his behaviour in different situations and what sort of home would suit him best. The five-year-old has a sensitive stomach and suffered from some digestive issues when he first arrived, which were quickly rectified with Pooch & Mutt’s ‘Health & Digestion’ range.

Around 20 stray dogs like Gonzales arrive at Woodgreen’s doors every month, often requiring life-saving treatment. But the charity also takes in dogs from owners who can no longer care for them, like Bethany the Rottweiler Husky cross. Bethany is one of many dogs at Woodgreen who have complex behavioural needs, which the charity’s experts are working on with a tailored training plan and lots of food-based rewards. Until the right new home is found, Bethany is enjoying Pooch & Mutt’s ‘Soft & Shiny’ range as it’s perfect for her thick coat.

Pooch & Mutt’s mission is to help dog owners make healthier choices for their dogs so they can live their best lives. The ‘good mood food for dogs’ experts produce an enhanced range of natural meals, treats and supplements. These boost different functions including calming, digestion, weight loss and joint care. From bouncy puppies to nervous pooches, there’s a fabulous range to suit dogs of all breeds, sizes and needs. Founder, Guy Blaskey, has worked with top nutritionists in the UK to create a healthy alternative to mass-produced pet foods.

Commenting on the partnership, Cat Harrison, senior affiliate manager at Pooch & Mutt, said: “We’re honoured to support Woodgreen with the specialist care they offer hundreds of dogs each year. Just like them, we’re all about what’s best for pets, people and the planet. It’s great to know their dogs will be receiving the best nutrition through a Pooch & Mutt diet and that new owners will get expert advice from Woodgreen to help them on their journey with their canine companion. We look forward to supporting the charity and the dogs in their care in every way we can.”

Woodgreen works tirelessly to provide safe shelter, specialist care, and a brighter future for thousands of dogs, cats and small pets – and they’re here for owners in need of advice and support too. With no government funding, this is only possible through the generosity of supporters and partners like Pooch & Mutt.
