WagIt Turns One - Get the Pawty started

Our friends over at WagIt, the London-based booking platform for dogs and their humans is celebrating their first birthday.

On 29th June, London’s most pampered pups and their devoted humans will be pawtying the afternoon away at the Happy Bones Coffee on Tottenham Court Road.

From 3-5pm, Very Important Pooches will come together at the newly opened venue, which comes from the owner of the Michelin starred restaurant, Fallow. Guests will be treated to delicious dog-friendly and human-friendly food, drinks, and a pup quiz with some pawsome prizes up for grabs.

Nadia, an Italian loving London life, started WagIt when she became frustrated at not being able to take her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Lola out with her. “It wasn’t as much fun, knowing Lola was left at home alone”, says Nadia Leguel, Founder and CEO of WagIt, “Times have changed, many more people got dogs during lockdown so I thought it was the perfect time to encourage more restaurants, bars and groomers to market themselves effectively and accept online bookings. It might seem odd, but it’s all about changing behaviour. It’s not enough just to allow dogs, you need to communicate that and make it easy for dog-owners to book and use your service too”.

Nadia was one of the original UK Opentable sales team, and remembers when consumers needed pushing in the right direction to book their tables online.

“Everyone was used to the old way of doing things, calling up to book a table and restaurants having big paper diaries for their bookings. It wasn’t easy to use and definitely not efficient. Now we want to encourage people to do the same for their dogs!”

No longer a young pup, WagIt has expanded its selection of dog-friendly restaurants, bars and groomers, and even offers a better way for dog lovers to book taxis having recently partnered with Addison Lee.

London has seen the biggest regional spike in dog ownership, up by 84% in 2020 (Quotezone 2021), and as COVID-19 restrictions ease WagIt wants to help make sure no lockdown pup is left behind.

Joining the WagIt Pack is free, with no hidden or extra booking costs.

About WagIt

WagIt was founded by Nadia Leguel and her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Lola in 2020. An Italian, living in London, Nadia has worked in hospitality for years and Lola’s ears dropped every time she went into an establishment with Nadia and the staff weren't very accommodating. So, WagIt was born. An online booking platform for dogs and their humans, WagIt sniffs out the best places to go for drinks, food and grooms in London. Now Lola can take Nadia everywhere she goes, and vice versa!
